Introducing...

Olivia Paige Mirkes born this morning at 8:18 a.m. She was 6 lbs. 15 oz. and 19 1/2inches long! She is such a sweetie! I don't really think I'm at liberty to share all the details of how she entered the world, but I'll just say it wasn't exactly what Angie was expecting and it included a 4:30 wake up call, so please excuse my undwashed hair and no make-up face! What I will tell you is that the Cox girls know how to get it done quickly!! :)

Enjoy the pics of our newest family addition! More to come later!

Splish Splash!

We got Hudson a water table for his birthday and finally brought it out on Wednesday when it was 92 degrees in Austin! And there is no sarcasm in my voice, that exclamation point is for excitement! I love hot weather!! Can't wait for the pool this summer!

So Dusty and I have come to realize that Hudson is a thinker. When he is presented with new things or experiences, he really has to think about it first and check it out. Thus, the serious face in most of these pictures. He eventually realized he liked it and was totally happy and played there for almost half an hour! And he's totally rockin' that mohawk, don't ya think?!

Well bloggy friends, my next post will be me holding little Olivia Paige! She's due to arrive on Monday, so stayed tuned for pics!

Look out world, here I come!

Hudson decided that the weekend he turned 13 months would be a good time to start walking! And not just a few steps, I mean walking from one room to the other! And again, this post would be so much better with video, but we all know the story, no need to hash that up again. (Bitter?) So these are not great pictures, but my mom kindly reminded me this morning that I had not posted any of our little toddler. Did I just say toddler? (Tears!) And the last one just makes me laugh. He is soooo small in his new seat. But no worries, he's got BIG personality!

And as a side note, these pictures were taken yesterday and Hudson was sporting his orange for his blogger buddy Stellan. If you haven't heard or read or stalked this family yet, you should. A sweet, sweet story of their little man who had surgery yesterday. And all of his mommy's blogger friends wore orange yesterday in honor of him. You could send in a picture to show your support, but I didn't get it done in time. But we were thinking and praying for him often yesterday!

Flashback...

to Easter one year ago. AWWWW!

Happy Easter from the Brewer's!

Here are a few things I have loved about this Easter:

*Getting to have "firsts" with Hudson...egg hunts, baskets, etc.
*Getting to actually explain and talk about the real meaning of Easter with my class at school.
*My husband wore a pink shirt to church this morning. I.Love.Him.
*The cardboard testimonies in church this morning. Coming to YouTube soon, I'm sure.
*But most of all, with a love I cannot understand, God sent His son for me. To be my comfort, my peace, my strength, my refuge, my tear holder, my Savior.

Happy Easter!

Brrr Rabbit!

Does anyone else say that, or is it just my family?? Anyway, it was freeeeezing at Hudson's first Easter egg hunt yesterday! So please excuse his very un-Easter attire. I am really hoping that this weekend is better weather, because he has many a cute springtime outfits to wear! Okay, back to the hunt...when the babies were given the go-ahead to find their eggs, we walked Hudson over to the spot and he immediately calls out "BALLS!" Have I mentioned that he says ball and dog?! He's a genius, well except for calling everything a ball, but whatever! Wow, I digress again. We were your typical first time parents... camera, video camera, big cheesy grins because our son is picking up balls, I mean eggs, and putting them in his mouth, I mean, basket. It was great, but oh my word, it was 45 degrees and the wind was out of control! Three eggs? Great! Let's go inside to the see the Easter bunny! (Who, btw, is Grandmommy! Kate & Jacks grandmother!!) We were the first family out to the egg hunt and the first family in from the egg hunt! His little nose was red from the wind, who can blame us?! He will never even remember that he only had three eggs and that Kate took the candy from inside! I think his first Easter egg hunt was quite a success!

And yes, that is a pink Peep that Dusty is feeding Hudson. Nasty.

I'm a Big Boy Now!

Hudson had his official first haircut this past Saturday! We have truly enjoyed going to Lyndsey's barber shop for our last couple of trims, but she was a little hesitant to cut Hudson's straight, long locks. It was in desperate need, so we went to the cutest little place especially for kids. They made a big deal of it being his first haircut and we got a certificate with his picture and a baggie of his hair. It was super-cute, but we will never be going back because it would cut into Mommy's Target budget, I mean grocery budget. But seriously, it was very pricey for his little bitty head!

So there MIGHT have been a few tears shed this weekend when I realized that Hudson is growing out of the baby stage! With his big boy haircut, new crocs, taking a few steps here and there, and being totally off the bottle (I would be glad to share Project Bottle with you if you are interested!), he just seems more like a little boy to me now. *Wiping tears away as I type.* But what a joy he is! Every new stage is fun and exciting!
