Christmas in Gainesville

We headed north on Christmas day to spend the weekend with Dusty's family in Gainesville. Hudson knows exactly what he wants at Granny's house...cars! He went straight to the closet to get daddy's hot wheels from when he was a kid, it's pretty cute! And then we were treated to way too many presents and Granny's yummy food!

The next day we celebrated with the whole Brewer family! The adults enjoyed another great gift exchange and Hudson and Addison entertained themselves!! Thank you Grandma and Grandpa! And Justin and Janice for hosting, we had a great time!

And SADLY, I did not get a single picture of Hudson in the snow. I mean, it's a White Christmas and no pictures?? What kind of blogger am I??

Christmas in Kaufman

We had a great holiday with my family in Kaufman. Hudson and I were able to go a little early and just hang out with Mimi and Paw-Paw, one of his favorite things! Here's a little run-down of our Christmas visit:

*Visiting the trains at Northpark!
*Mommy and Aunt Angie visiting Lydia and new baby Bobby!
*Yummy lunch with our friend Steve!
*Playtime with cousins!
*Christmas Eve service at Watermark Community Church!
*Opening presents in our Christmas jammies!
*Throwing a second Christmas fit because he wanted Walker's presents! :)
*Eating, eating, eating! (Maybe that was just mommy!)

My parents house keeps getting more and more full as the years go on, it's a total blast! Thanks Mimi and Paw-Paw for a wonderful Christmas!

Christmas at Preschool

Hudson's school had a Christmas sing-a-long and his toddler class got to go on stage with the big kids in their jammies and sing "Happy Birthday Jesus" and "Jingle Bells"! These are terrible pictures, but you can see how well he sat there and did not sing a word! :)

And after the sing-a-long...time to meet Santa!!! We knew he would not be afraid, but Hudson and Santa ended up being down right chummy! They talked, smiled, traded candy canes...overall, a pretty good visit! I wonder what he asked him for!!

First Christmas!

We celebrated Christmas tonight with our friends the Testone's. We have done this each year we have lived here in Austin, but tonight was the most eventful yet. I am truly thankful for friends who know my son's passions and want to help foster those passions with toys they knew he would love. I am also thankful for friends who do not judge, look on in disgust or walk out our front door vowing to never return when our son throws the Temper Tantrum of 2009 right on our kitchen floor because we had to take away the toy they gifted him! Hudson is OBSESSED with lawn mowers. (It's okay, we know it's weird.) Anyway, Lyndsey found the really fun bubble mower at Toys R Us and thought it would be perfect for Hudson...of course!! UNTIL, Jack tried to touch it! Yikes! Crying, stomping, and gnashing of teeth ensued. We're working on the sharing and the true meaning of Christmas!

Now I realize the pictures you see are all happy and full of Christmas cheer, but believe me the video that we took of the previously mentioned tantrum is not so pretty! I know, terrible parenting for pulling out the video camera to record such events, but he might need to see it one day.

We love the Testone's and can't wait to see what blog worthy moments next year's Christmas gathering brings! Fa la la la la!!!

Wreck'em Tech!

I took NOT ONE picture during our family Thanksgiving gatherings (will someone share?) but I did pull out my camera for the big weekend game between my Red Raiders and the Baylor Bears who gave us a little bit of a scare! The game was played at the new, and ridiculous, Cowboys Stadium in Dallas. And if you can't tell from the pictures, we were AT THE VERY TOP! Adam was a little nervous that I was going to to into labor as we walked up the 150 flights of stairs to get to our seats! But no worries, she's holding on!

It was an ugly win, but we pulled it out! Sorry Baylor friends!

The Brewer Boys

I'm a few weeks behind, but better late than never!! So Kim, my best friend from childhood is a fellow blogger and recently blogged about our long overdue visit with our boys. Did I mention we both married into the last name Brewer? Well, we did and so two weeks ago, the Brewer boys met. I would suggest reading Kim's blog, she's way more clever with words than me!

And make sure you look closely to her blog layout...she's got a "FEW" things in the works!! :)

Family Pictures November2009

So I received the best gift ever from one of the moms in my classroom...a free photography sitting for pictures!! We met her at a park and "someone" was a little distracted by all that was going on around him. But she was so patient with him and we ended up getting some really cute pictures. The first family picture by the water has a little secret...there is a duck standing right in front of us, seriously!

I did leave our favorite out, but it might just show up in your mailbox!! So here is Ellie Belly at 29 weeks and Hudson at 20 months. Our growing family!

Dallas World Aquarium

(First of all, sorry for the delay, I've had some computer issues. We're back!)

I recently took a for no reason trip home for a couple of days and Mimi and I decided to take Hudson and Walker on a field trip to the aquarium. It was so fun and the boys loved it! The fish, turtles and octupus were the big hits! Thanks Mimi!

Maybe, just maybe I'll post a pic of the new 29 weeks (yikes!) Ellie Belly this week!

Sneak Peek...

Somebody is getting a big boy room!! Look how little he is!!

How many licks does it take...

to get your child to wear their costume??? That's right, we bribed Hudson with a tootsie pop to wear his costume and ride nicely with his BFF while we went trick-or-treating! Elmo and Chewbacca (OMG!) thoroughly enjoyed their Halloween experience, as did their mommies. Next year? Yikes!

I will say that our original bribe during group pictures was a toy gun that our friend had for his camo costume. But I really could not post pictures of Elmo with a gun, it would have scared the children. :)

Halloween at Preschool!

Hudson got to be in the school parade and go trick-or-treating twice this week! This doesn't really help the fact that he already thinks he runs the church, but whatever, it's fun for us! His class hopped in their bye-bye buggy and rode in style! I should have taken a picture of all 20 spiders that Grandma Barbara handed him...special treatment?? Umm, yes. After the parade, we went back to his class for a little Halloween cookie time! Look how cute he is in that teeny tiny chair!! And he even threw his trash away when he was finished! Our little pumpkin is growing up! On Friday he got to wear part of daddy's CREEPY Willie Wonka costume. Seriously, it was creepy, in not a good creepy way. I DID NOT take a picture.

Well, tonight is the big night. Will he wear his costume? Who knows! But I'm sure there will be candy! Ellie just jumped! :)

Showering Lydia!

I had the honor of helping to host a baby shower for my friend Lydia and her soon to be son, Bobby this past weekend! It was such a fun time...look how adorable the cake was!! Lydia and I are part of a group of friends from college who humbly call ourselves The Fab Five! As you can see, we were one short this past weekend...we missed you Julie! We all had boys first, so Ellie is the first girl to join the group! I love these girls and was so happy to have a mini-reunion and shower Lydia!

**Our trip to the Sweet Berry Farms pumpkin patch was cancelled on Monday due to rain, but I'm hoping we will reschedule! Fun things coming this week!

They call me a fireman...

that's my name! Who loves George Strait?!

The Austin Fire Dept. came to our school last week and well, let's just say that there were all of three children from Hudson's toddler class that were willing to participate...can you guess one of them?? He was ALL about the fire truck (big truck) and its equipment.

One of the benefits of Hudson being at the same school/church as Dusty and I is that we get to sneak in and see him doing all the fun school stuff! We went out to watch him and he would stand right at the edge of the truck and say "Dada! Dada!" like he was trying to say "Daddy! Look at me!" We love getting to watch him learn and grow! We are attempting to be Elmo for Halloween, but maybe we should have gone with a fireman costume instead!!
