A sad day on Sugarberry Lane...

Mimi went home today. :( She has been with us for the last two weeks and it was heartbreaking to see her go. I have complete confidence in Dusty and myself, but there was just something comforting about having my mom close by as I am trying to figure out how to be a mom myself.

We cannot say thank you enough Mimi, you were an absolute blessing. And thanks to my dad and other family for sharing her with us!

Side note--Hudson cried for 20 minutes after she left. The most he's ever cried! We miss you already!

Happy Easter!

Things have been a little busy around here, but we did manage to take some family pictures for Hudson's first Easter ( and first Sunday, at that! ) We are a little sleepy :), but loving every minute with him! Thanks for all your posts! I've been telling Hudson about each of you and how you are special friends. He can't wait to meet you!!

Introducing...

Hudson Hayes Brewer! He arrived Tuesday March 18th at 12:52 p.m. (Yeah, we'll get back to that!) He was 5 lbs. 9 oz. and 18 1/2 inches long. He is a little peanut with dark hair and looks like his daddy!! He is absolutely adorable!

We went in to be induced on Tuesday morning at 7:00 a.m. I was given my first round of pitocin around 7:45 and we were off! I progressed VERY quickly! I got an epidural around 10:00 and was born less than three hours later! Whew! It was the most amazing experience! We had a party in the room! I was so glad to have family and friends to share his birth with us.

We are home now and resting. Thanks again for all your thoughts and prayers. I'll do my best to keep updating the blog! Enjoy the pictures!!

This is it!

We are sitting on the couch by ourselves for the LAST time!! Baby Hudson joins our family tomorrow!! We can't wait! I am being induced at 7:00 a.m. tomorrow morning. I'm not sure what the internet situation will be at the hospital, so check back periodically for updates and pictures!

We can't wait to share our sweet baby boy with each of you. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers!

No News...

anyone surprised?? We went back to the doctor today after an eventful weekend full of contractions and pains only to find out that I am only dilated to a three. Friday night we swore this was it and we would be having a baby the next day and then all contractions and symptoms slowed down, picked back up, slowed down, etc. I still felt sure that with all the action over the weekend that I was further along than I am, but we have all read the blogs on what a stubborn child I am bearing, right?! No baby. Not until next Tuesday. I am being induced March 18th if he hasn't arrived before then. That is great news, BUT what in the world am I going to do for the next week? This is where you come in my friends. Any and all suggestions for keeping my mind off this are welcome.

So until Tuesday, we are waiting.

The Waiting Game

We just got back from our doctor appointment and heres the update:

1. Hudson is NOT a teeny 5 pounds, he is a hefty 6 1/2 pounds!!!
2. We watched him suck on his fingers, too cute!
3. I am dilated to a 2!!
4. His head is VERY low. My doctors exact words, "I can't believe you are walking around like this." :)
5. Wait, wait, wait.
