Three weeks to go! Or maybe less??!! We went back to the doctor today and received yet again some interesting news. First, I am having contractions and I'm dilated to a 1! YIPPEE!! I know, not much to get excited about, but hey, it's a number! Second, my doctor thinks Hudson is a little too small. Big surprise! She wants to do an ultrasound next week to check his exact weight. If he's below the 30th percentile, she's considering inducing me early. I know that doesn't seem to make much sense, but I think it has something to do with him being able to receive more nutrients outside the womb. And if he is above the 30th percentile in weight by next week, she thinks I'm right on track for my due date. (Which I was told today by Aunt Angie is a good thing because she has a hair appointment scheduled for the 21st that she really wants to keep. Nice.)
So I'm just going to put it out there that I'm starting to panic just a little. I mean, this has been a two year journey for us and now that its here, I'm freaking out. Thank God for my ever-mellow husband, who is not worried one bit about raising a child. (He IS currently worked up that the Mavs can't get a good lead on the Spurs.) And thank God that He is the one who will constantly give us patience, love, wisdom and discernment when we just don't know what else to do.
Did I mention that I'm having a baby in less than three weeks. AAHHHH!

Good News/Bad News!
So good news first! Hooray for Hudson! He turned and is now head down!!!! We couldn't believe it! I really have no idea when it happened, but we saw him with our own eyes today on the ultrasound. So not only is my son stubborn, but now he's sneaky!!
And the bad news. Since this is my first baby, I will likely go late. Which means four to five more weeks. UGGGHHH! My due date is March 19th, but my doctor said it could be as late as the 26th. I mean really? I'm already waddling and popping TUMS like they are candy.
But....one day within the next month, it will all be worth it! I'll keep you posted!

Showered in Camo!
Two of our favorite things in Austin!
The Oasis on Lake Travis and Kate! We went to dinner at the Oasis on Friday night because it was a ridiculous 82 degrees. Yes, Dallas friends, be jealous! The lake in February! We were joined by our fabulous friends Steven and Lyndsey and their daughter Kate. For the last two and half years Kate has been our baby! We absolutely adore her! She is a little confused about our new baby. Since she was told I had a baby in my tummy, Kate has said that its a mermaid, Baby Jesus and a girl named Hudson. Oh well, I'm sure she will enjoy bossing him around once he finally gets here!!

Oh, sweet child of mine!
We went to the doctor today for a sonogram to check on Hudson's position. We didn't exactly get the report we were hoping for. My Hudson is laying straight across my stomach, still. Unfortunately my doctor had to leave right in middle of our appointment to go and deliver someone else's little one. This was of course right after she said, "I'm afraid he isn't going to turn. If you go into premature labor, we'll for sure have to do a C-section. I have to go now." WHAT?? The nurse comes in to give me an information sheet on exercises they want me to do for the next two weeks. Great. Oh, it gets better. If he doesn't turn in the next two weeks, I can try a Chinese herb incense stick to light by my pinkie toe. Or acupuncture. I kid you not.
So friends, here's what we are praying for at this point:
1. That I do not go into labor any time soon.
2. That our little sweetie pie decides to turn on his own.
3. Continued health, safety and protection for Hudson.
4. Most importantly that we would trust God with whatever happens.
Oh my! We are so in for it...

Whew...what a weekend!
This past weekend was jam packed! It started on Friday with my mom, friend Mandy and her kids and myself heading to conquer First Monday in Canton. I was looking for things for the nursery and was not very successful, but I ended the day with a famous First Monday corn dog, so not a bad day! Of course, I forgot my camera for this and my nephew's birthday party that night. Nice!
Saturday was quite a day with TWO baby showers in the same day! We were first blessed at my home church, First Baptist Church in Kaufman, by family and friends. Thanks to Lydia for taking pictures while I was busy opening gifts! And thanks to Aunt Angie, Aunt Kathy, Mimi and Granny Carrell for throwing a great shower! And to Aunt Kim who was a hostess, but couldn't come due to an emergent gallbladder removal, we love you and hope you feel better soon! And to Aunt Julie who has sick kids, we missed you too! You girls throw a pretty great party from five hours away!!
My mom, sister-in-law and I hopped in the car and headed to Callisburg for the second shower of the day! Dusty's family threw us a sweet shower with the cutest train cake and some major loot! Thank you!! As you can see, the only pictures taken from that shower were of my cutie pie niece Addison! I really need to get on the ball with the taking pictures thing!
Needless to say, I am exhausted, but feel very blessed by friends and family! Thanks again! Check back soon for an update on Hudson!
Oh, one last highlight from my weekend:
My 4 year old niece asked me on Friday if Hudson was going to come out of my mouth when he was born! After laughing under my breath, I said no and she then proceeded to ask me where he was going to come out. I told her that was a question for her mom to answer! Good luck with that one Kathy!!
