And so it begins...

Pink fever is spreading quickly!! This is what we found on Lyndsey's table last night when we arrived for dinner! Ellie's first pair of shoes and cookie cake for mommy!! And we received a Granny box in the mail on Friday (she is fast!) with several sweet pink outfits and socks! Thank you so much!

So Lyndsey is one of four girls and this morning her dad stopped us at church to congratulate us and he gave Dusty a sort of "good luck" pat on the back. He said, "You might as well go ahead and increase the limit on your credit card!" I thought Dusty was going to pass out in the pew! There will be no need for that, mommy is good at finding deals! And since we've known for all of five days and we're already being showered with pink, I think our credit card will be just fine!! :)

The Big News!!!

Since most of you were patient as you waited for the news, I won't beat around the bush...majority wins!!! IT"S A GIRL!!! I thought for sure I was having another boy, but when the doctor showed us the between the legs shot, I screamed in my head "There's nothing there!!" We are so excited! I just happened to be wearing a pink shirt yesterday, so I made Dusty take a picture of me when we got back. LOTS more pink to come!!!

Ellison Reese Brewer "Ellie" will be joining our family February 1st!

A Little Teaser :)

I know this will make some of my bloggy friends a little mad, but I really only have time to tell you that our sonogram went very well today and the baby is healthy and developing as it should! Yay! I will continue to get monthly sonograms to check for future complications that might arise, but the doctor was very pleased with what she saw today. Praise God!

And because I want to share the "other" news in full detail, it will have to wait until tomorrow. Dusty and I are on our way to celebrate by taking 12 youth on an overnight retreat! I know you're jealous, it's okay!

Until then...

17 months

Hudson is 17 months! And in honor of his 17 months, I will share with you 17 of Hudson's favorite words. (According to Daddy there are like 30, but that might be just a little bit of exaggerated pride!) But Hudson does talk A-LOT! Some words very clear, some words, phrases, sentences are very unclear. And he gets very frustrated when we don't understand him...the joys of toddlerhood!! Okay, on to the list (with translation!)...

*mama & dada
*ball
*gog (dog)
*car-car
*bye-bye
*wa-wa (water)
*side (outside)
*sot (that's hot)
*mo-mo (more)
*baby
*Ba-ba (Barney)
*boo (book)
*yummy-yummy-yummy (did you get that one?)
*dis (this)
*ni-ni (night-night)
*bi-bi (Bible, so sweet! Thank you Ms. Pat!)

We have definitely moved into a new phase of life, it's called NON-STOP. Hudson is all boy, all the time. He is active, loud and keeps us on our toes. And even though he threw a big fit tonight because I would not let him have anymore fruit snacks, he continues to be the joy of our lives. Do you see him reading his Bible?? Okay, it's upside down, but it's a good start!! We love our little man! We start school in a couple of weeks and I'm sure we will have lots of adventures!

Speaking of our lives being full of joy, this Wednesday we get to take a close up look at the newest addition to our family. I am having a special sonogram done to check on possible complications from a virus I tested positive for at the beginning of the summer. We would appreciate your prayers. We are trusting God and thanking Him for each day we get to "spend" with our baby. AND, we will probably find out if we're a boy or a girl, so make sure and put in your vote! And maybe, just maybe, I will post a pic of the baby bump at 16 weeks! It's a big week around here! Stay tuned for the news!

The Big 3-0! Part 2

Well, here is one of two pictures that we took on our vacation. The other picture was far away and blurry, but the random woman who took it for us was really into it and was making suggestions about where we should stand/sit, etc. Hence the engagement-looking picture above. Moving on...

We went away for two days to the Westin La Cantera resort in San Antonio, aka, the best little Texas resort, ever. Amen. My one little picture does no justice to how b-e-a-utiful this place is. You would never know that you were right next to Fiesta Texas, except you drive right next to the Texas Giant on your way to the resort entrance, because it is tucked away in the hill country. I could not have asked for a better way to end my birthday than with a few days of relaxing and hanging out with our good friends the Testone's! We love going on vacation with them! Here's a run down of what we did:

*ate
*sat by the pool that overlooked the golf course/hill country
*shopped
*ate
*saw a crappy movie
*slept in
*ate
*laid/read by the pool that overlooked the golf course/hill country
*ate
*waited until the very last minute to check-out

I highly recommend this place if you need a mini vacation that is close by. Now it's back to the real world. Hudson doesn't want to nap and is constantly asking for "cooks" or cookies/vanilla wafers. Hmmm...and detox begins.

The Big 3-0! Part 1

So last Sunday was my big 30th birthday and the key word for the weekend was SURPRISE, which I wouldn't say I'm a huge fan of, but very grateful for all the planning that went on! Dusty had done some behind my back planning to have some friends come to my parents house for a little party on Saturday. We had a yummy lunch and some delicious cheesecake and watched my son run around like a wild maniac. He loves a party. It meant a lot to me to have my family and friends there to celebrate my big day.

Wait, did I mention that the whole reason we went to Kaufman was to drop off Hudson because we were going on a secret vacation??!! That's right, more surprises! We left the wild man and on Sunday we headed off for a little birthday vacation with more friends! I'm going to show the ONE picture we took in the next post!

Thanks to everyone who made this such a special birthday!
